The Phoenix Rising is a powerful image, one associated over the years with rebirth, arising out of the ashes to be reborn again. The Phoenix can also be seen as a metaphor for life and how we choose to participate in and manifest our own lives. The Phoenix chose to burn up so he could come back renewed. The metaphor here is for how we transform during our lifetimes on a spiritual level as well as a physical level. Letting go of what does not serve us anymore as in sacrifice. Something old must be destroyed to make room for something new, enlightenment. I chose to create a double headed Phoenix to show the duality that exists in us all. The male/female, yin/yang,positive/negative, all having one heart heart, symbolizing our universality. Peace.
